CAIRNGORMS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY Audit Committee Paper 2 01/11/07 CAIRNGORMS NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY FOR INFORMATION Title: STANDING ITEM: STRATEGIC RISK REGISTER AND BALANCED SCORECARD MEASURES Prepared by: DAVID CAMERON, HEAD OF CORPORATE SERVICES Purpose To update the Committee on the Management Team’s review of the Strategic Risk Register. Recommendations The Committee is asked to: a) Note the updated Strategic Risk Register presented at Annex 1 to this paper. b) Note the current balanced scorecard organisational performance measures on governance and risk management as set out in Annex 2 to this paper. Executive Summary The Management Team regularly reviews the Authority’s Strategic Risk Register. The updated Strategic Risk Register is presented in Annex 1 to this paper for information following the most recent review of the status of strategic risks by the Management Team on 2 October 2007. No additional risks have been added to the register since it was last considered by the Committee at its meeting in March 2007. A number of updates to actions and status of tracking of risk have been made and these are noted in the Annex. Where a risk is no longer considered relevant, this has been shaded in grey. The paper also sets out a summary of the balanced scorecard measures for governance and risk management, as at 30 September 2007. The measures continue to reflect the delayed FOI response highlighted in December 2006 as an “amber” aspect of performance. This aspect will fall out of the monitoring figures in the next reporting cycle and this measure will revert back to green, assuming procedures continue to ensure the 20 day response target is met.
