As an organisation we value transparency and accountability.  

Under the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations the public have the right to request information we hold as a public authority. This right covers recorded information, which includes information held on computers, in emails, and in printed or handwritten documents as well as images, video and audio recordings.

Our website contains a lot of information, including specific details of projects, meetings and documents, so we recommend using the search function to discover what has already been published in the first instance.

We’ve adopted the Scottish Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme (updated March 2021). This means that we will produce a Guide to Information to make it easier for people to find and access information that the Park Authority publishes. It outlines the classes of information we make available routinely, where the information can be accessed and whether any fees are payable. Our Publication Scheme is based on resources available across this site.

Requesting information

• Make your request for information in writing, for example in a letter or an email.
• Give your real name and give an address that we can reply to. This can be a postal or email address.
• Be as specific as possible about the information you require.

What happens next?

We will aim to acknowledge your request within three working days and ask you for clarification if needed. We will reply to you within 20 working days either give you the information you’ve asked for, tell you if we don’t have the information, refuse to give you some or all of the information and explain why. If your request is for information that is not easily available and is more complex to locate and retrieve then a charge may be applied, however if we need to make a charge then we will contact you before doing anything.

Information about yourself

If your request is for information about yourself, you should make a subject access request (SAR) under data protection legislation. We may require identification to confirm your identity before we release information.
