The towns and villages in the National Park each have their own character and each has different facilities and services - usually listed on the community websites. To find out more about each place there are links to their websites here.

Get free, up-to-date information on where to stay, what to do and where to eat and drink from the Cairngorms National Park app. Or go to the visitcairngorms.com website to search for accommodation, find out about local food and drink, and download a copy of What's On, the monthly events listing.

As long as you're being responsible, you can go pretty much anywhere in Scotland. The 'right to roam' is now backed up with legislation. To be allowed that right, you have to show care, respect and responsibility. The Scottish Outdoor Access Code describes what is responsible behaviour in a number of different settings - if you're not acting responsibily, you don't have the right to be there. Know the Code before you go
