Corporate Plan
The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) became fully operational on 01 September 2003. This is the Corporate Plan which spans the period 2005 to 2008. During this time, the process of getting the CNPA fully established – with its infrastructure in place and its role clarified and understood – will be completed. This will be achieved under 5 strategic themes:
- To enable current and future generations to understand and enjoy the special qualities of the Park in a way which fosters those qualities and supports the activities of others.
- To promote sustainable resource, land and water management; and to protect and enhance our wildlife and landscapes.
- To support and stimulate economic and social development within the Park that sustains and is sustained by its special natural and cultural qualities.
- To ensure our commitment to future generations we will look beyond the horizon and put in place plans to guide and co-ordinate the long term integrated management of the Park.
- To be an open, innovative and professional organisation that engages effectively with the public and behaves with integrity.
The Corporate Plan sets out the actions planned to deliver a range of objectives within these broad themes. The plan acknowledges that it is difficult to be precise at this early stage of the CNPA's life, and that action plans will be refined over the next few years as the National Park Plan is developed and working relationships with stakeholders and partners become clearer. As part of that process of refinement, specific targets will be set, and outputs defined, so that progress can be measured.
The funding levels for the Corporate plan period are:
| 2005/06 | 2006/07 | 2007/08 | |
