How To Report An Access Issue

A great many people enjoy the outdoors in the National Park but for a few this enjoyment can be restricted by encountering an obstruction be it a locked gate or blocked path. If you have encountered an issue where you feel your access rights have been blocked, or if you have witnessed people behaving irresponsibly then please fill in the form below. Alternatively, you can contact us directly.

It is the duty of the Cairngorms National Park Authority to, "assert, protect and keep open and free from obstruction or encroachment any route, waterway or other means by which access rights may be exercised." (13(1) Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003).

The CNPA resolves these issues in the first instance by working with land managers to find the solution that meets everyone’s needs. In dealing with these issues the CNPA will prioritise them based on location, who is affected and how.

The CNPA will keep people informed on progress but often by their very nature access issues can take some time to resolve.

The CNPA also welcomes feedback on paths in need of repair. Reporting such issues allows us to contact the relevant path manager to encourage repairs. Please use the form below for reporting such issues.
