Monitoring and Reporting
The Cairngorms National Park Authority has established a framework for the monitoring and reviewing of the priorities for action and the state of the Park. The framework gives an insight into the relationships between the state of the Park, the drivers for change that act on it, the impacts of those changes, and the management actions outlined in the Park Plan.
The framework is known as the ‘Pressure-State-Impact-Response’ model:
-
Pressures affecting the Park
-
The current State of the Park’s resources
-
Impacts on the Park and its special qualities
-
The management Responses implemented by the Plan’s priorities for action
The results of the monitoring framework are reported in three ways:
-
Four-monthly operational reports which summarise progress in delivering the actions identified by the Plan’s priorities for action.
-
The annual Park Plan progress reports, which summarises the progress and effects of implementing the National Park Plan’s priorities for action.
-
The five yearly State of the Park Report, that summarises the important information about the state of the Park’s resources, pressures affecting the Park and the impacts on its special qualities. The next State of the Park Report will be published in 2011.
