Going to School

Most village communities within the Cairngorms National Park have their own primary school which feeds into one of the nine secondary schools in and on the edge of the Park.

These include: Kingussie High School in Badenoch; Grantown Grammar School in Strathspey; Aboyne Academy in Deeside; Alford Academy in Donside; Brechin High School and Websters High School in Kirriemuir, Angus; Blairgowrie High School and Pitlochory High School in Perthshire.

The National Park is playing an ever increasing role in a variety of subjects within the curriculum at all levels of education and many of them already have an Eco-schools grading, showing their commitment to the long term sustainability of the Cairngorms for future generations.
