Economy of the Park
"The structure of the Cairngorms National Park is unique, with a distinctive mix of industries contributing to the National Park's creation of wealth."
The Economic and Social Health of the Cairngorms National Park, 2010
It is vital that the CNPA, partners, businesses and the people living in the Cairngorms National Park have access to reliable economic and social data. This information helps with planning future priorities and deciding where to target development support.
The Economic and Social Health of the Cairngorms National Park 2010
The report updates the 2002 economic survey of the Park, and contains data and analysis on everything from forestry to housing, people and work, manufacturing to tourism, and whisky to retailing. By indentifying and analysing local economic trends, and comparing these with the national picture, it provides insights into the current economic 'make-up' of the Park and how it may look in the medium to longer term. It also seeks to examine the impact that the National Park status has had on the area's economy.
Along with the main report, there is an annex focussing on Deeside. A summary booklet provides a snapshot of the Park's economy.
Economic and Social Health of the Cairngorms National Park 2010
This work was jointly commissioned by the Cairngorms National Park Authority, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise.
Business Support Audit and User Guide
Even to an established business it can be hard to find out how to access business support, including advice, grants and training. Support is available from a wide range of sources across the Park, including councils, the Enterprise Network, Business Gateway, Forestry Commission Scotland, LEADER and Skills Development Scotland, and in order to help you identify what you need, the CNPA has published this guide.
The User Guide highlights the parts of the main Business Support Audit report which will be of most use to you, with each section summarising the information you should read. For the most up to date information, follow the links in the documents.
