The next Local Development Plan

The availability of housing, and in particular affordable housing, is one of the major issues faced by the communities of the Cairngorms National Park.

We want to hear your views on town centres and the retail sector of the National Park, and in particular what factors, such as occupancy rates and service provision, need to be considered in the preparation of the Local Development Plan.

We want to hear your views on climate change and how it is projected to affect the National Park.

We want to hear your views on the model for identifying ’20-minute neighbourhoods‘ in the National Park, and in particular we would like to find out about any facilities that are missing from it.

We want to hear your views on the proposed site assessment methodology, and in particular what considerations or information should inform the assessment.

We want to hear your views on the natural heritage of the National Park, and in particular what species and habitats need to be considered in the preparation of the Local Development Plan.

We want to hear your views on the economy of the National Park. This includes information on the working age population, the types of jobs and industries that exist within the National Park, the availability of land for economic development and future economic projections.

We want to hear your views on health care provision and hazards within the National Park. This includes information on what the health of the population, the capacity and condition of existing infrastructure and the risks to health and safety within the National Park.

We want to hear your views on matters relating to education in the National Park, including school capacity, pupil number projections and school condition and future infrastructure needs.

We want to hear your views on matters relating to energy transmission, distribution and generation in the National Park.

We want to hear your views on matters relating to sustainable transport in the National Park, including the use of roads, railways and active travel.

We want to hear your views on matters relating to waste management in the National Park.

We want to hear your views on matters relating to heat networks in the National Park, including information on existing networks and the potential for new ones.

We want to hear your views on the use of land and resources in the National Park

We want to hear your views on the digital infrastructure within the National Park, including how good mobile coverage is and broadband provision.

We want to hear your views on tourism in the National Park, including what makes it a special place to visit and what issues arise.

We want to hear your views on the historic and cultural heritage assets of the National Park, including its buildings, landscapes and archaeological remains.

We want to hear your views on the proposed outcomes for the next Local Development Plan and how it will fit in with Scottish Government’s National Planning Framework 4 and the Park Authority’s National Park Partnership Plan 2022.
