Board Member Elections

The Cairngorms National Park Authority Board has an extremely important job to do, guiding the long term objectives for the Cairngorms National Park and setting the work priorities for the Park Authority

On 23 March 2023, residents of the Cairngorms National Park will go to the polls to elect five members to the Board, which is made of 19 individuals, with seven members appointed by Scottish Government Ministers and a further seven nominated from the local authorities covering the Park area.

Often faced with difficult decisions, the role of a Park Authority Board member is both challenging and rewarding, tasked with ensuring that both the natural environment and the local communities in our Park are cared for and sustained for current and future generations to enjoy.

Your vote matters

The candidates have been announced and the ballot papers have been issued and Cairngorms National Park’s residents can now vote for who they would like to see join the board of the Cairngorms National Park Authority.

Twenty candidates are standing across four out of five wards with Ward 2 (Aviemore and Glenmore) being uncontested.

Voting in the Park Authority elections is by postal ballot with all ballot papers to be returned to The Highland Council, (who manage the election process,) by Thursday 23 March.
