Cairngorms National Park Boundary Consultation

Scottish Ministers propose to extend the Cairngorms National Park into Perth & Kinross on, or approximately on, the line proposed in John Swinney's Cairngorms National Park Boundary Bill.  Scottish Natural Heritage - the Scottish Government's natural heritage advisor - has been asked to consult on and prepare a detailed proposal stating: exactly where the extended boundary should lie; and the revised allocation of local authority nominations to the CNPA board, taking into account the new boundary.

SNH has sought people's advice on these two issues in a consultation which ran between August and October, which has now closed. SNH are preparing their report which will be submitted to Ministers before Christmas 2008 and a copy of the report will be available on the SNH website in due course.  Please visit the SNH website at www.SNH.org.uk/nationalparks for further information on the consultation report or email cairngorms@snh.gov.uk.
