How To Report An Access Issue
The Cairngorms National Park Authority has a duty to uphold access rights. As the Access Authority, it is the duty of the Cairngorms National Park Authority to, “assert, protect and keep open and free from obstruction or encroachment any route, waterway or other means by which access rights may be exercised.” (13(1) Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003).
The CNPA has powers to enforce access rights and remove obstructions to access. It also has powers to manage, and in some cases limit, the exercise of access rights. If you have encountered an issue where you feel your access rights have been blocked or limited in some way, either physically or through encounters with other people or if you have witnessed people behaving irresponsibly then please fill in the form below. Alternatively, you can contact us directly.
Report an access issue
Please respond in as full and detailed a manner as possible – this will help us to deal with the matter more quickly.
The form requires you to provide us with contact details as we may require further information from you to help us to begin an investigation. In some cases a lack of basic information e.g. accurate location or type of issue may mean that we are unable to begin an investigation altogether. Please note that your personal details will remain confidential and will not be disclosed by the CNPA to any third party. If you wish to report an issue anonymously please contact us by telephone or email.
* indicates compulsory field.
All issues reported to us will be logged immediately but please bear in mind that access issues may take a lengthy time to resolve or bring to a conclusion. If you want to know the progress of an issue please contact the outdoor access team in writing, by phone or by email – we will be happy to help.
